Northstar Properties develops and operates retail and residential properties in the Northeast. Northstar Centers manages portfolio properties. Northstar Realty and Construction provides building construction, brokerage and other services. The Northstar portfolio consists primarily of supermarket and national discounter-anchored open-air community centers. More recently, we have added urban mixed-use properties, primarily with residential rental above street level retail. Northstar maintains offices in New York City and suburban Boston.

The Managing Member of Northstar Properties is Fredric Leopold. Fredric has been in the real estate development and finance business since 1980. He directs acquisitions, financing, concept development, design and merchandising/leasing of new projects.
Fredric’s experience includes work on the development of the Beverly Center (Los Angeles) and new or rehabbed shopping centers for supermarkets including Stop & Shop, Shaw’s and ShopRite and design of new residential units. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the Yale School of Management. Fredric lives in New York City.
Marjorie Hession, Director of Properties, handles major retail development, leasing and management assignments. She has run substantial projects across Northstar’s retail portfolio and is now directing development of Phase II of a multi-phase retail project in Southington, CT.
Marjorie has more than thirty years of retail real estate experience, working for a number of prominent New England retailers, including King’s Department Stores, Zayre Corp., NHD and Shaw’s Supermarkets. Marjorie is a graduate of Boston University and lives outside Boston.
Robert Sulzer manages portfolio properties in the New York City area, heads operations for Northstar’s construction affiliate and is a member of the acquisitions team. He is directing ongoing redevelopment projects in New York City.
Robert has been extensively involved in complicated rehabilitation programs for New York City mixed-use buildings, previously at Newcastle Realty Services. He is a graduate of Connecticut College and lives in Brooklyn.
Linda Jope manages portfolio properties in New England. She has extensive experience in shopping center accounting and bookkeeping, as well as tenant and vendor relations. Linda handles both property management and capital expenditure work. She lives in suburban Boston.
Brett Spivack manages portfolio properties in the New York City area. Brett has past experience as a retail broker in New York City and as a property manager in the Tri-state area. He is a graduate of Ohio State University with a B.S. in Business and a specialization in real estate. He lives in New York City.
